  • Can Anyone build their own airplane?  Yes!  The M-19 Flying Squirrel is designed to be built with the Homebuilder in mind.

  • Do I need any special licenses to build it? No, The M-19 is built under the Experimental Amateur Built category. No License necessary.

  • Can I build my airplane at home?  Yes, the M-19 was designed to be built in the area of a single car garage.

  • How will I get it to the airfield? The M-19 has folding wings for easy trailering to the airfield.

  • Will I need any specialized tools? No, the M-19 is designed with the average homebuilder in mind. The original M-19 was built using simple hand tools.

  • Can I get technical advice? Yes, there are vast resources available for you. Questions about the M-19 can be answered here and extended building assistance is encouraged through a local chapter of the EAA.

  • Is there training available? Yes, most local chapters of the EAA have very knowledgable people available who are willing to help newcomers to our sport. The EAA also offers workshops on aircraft construction.

  • How much will it cost me? That depends on options. You can get flying for as low as $3,500.
